Our ITSSAR forklift Instructors course is commencing Monday the 27th February for 10 days.
The Instructors course gives delegates the information and training in instructional techniques in order to effectively carry out training unsing a range of methods. Delegates are given instruction on report writing, carrying out practical and theoritical lessons as well as making lesson plans and carrying out testing.

This course will count as 7 hours towards your driver CPC qualification and as well as gaining a Driver CPC certificate you will also get an HSE recognised Emergency first aid at work certificate which lasts for 3 years and will satisfy your legal requirements as an emergency first aider.

IPAF Scissors and Boom - The IPAF certification is internationally recognised from the U.K to America. Course delegates are issued with a "PAL" (powered access licence) card on successful completion of the course. The PAL card shows the categories the delegate is trained to operate and can be verified via IPAF's website for quick and easy confirmation of their training.
PASMA Tower Scaffold - The PASMA tower scaffold course covers the assembly, moving, dismantling and inspection of mobile tower scaffold systems. On successful completion of the course delegates will receive a photographic id card which is valid for 5 years and state the delegates PASMA id number and training dates which can be verified by PASMA.

The CSR Site Supervisors Gold Card 4 day course is designed to ensure that site management, Foremen and anyone in a supervisory role is aware of their responsibilities under the various health and safety legislation and also how effectively they are currently meeting the health and safety and welfare legislation currently governing their sites/work areas.

The Construction Plant Competancy Scheme (CPCS) is still one of the largest plant skills register in the UK with over 280,000 CPCS skills cards having been issued since the scheme launch in 2003. The CPCS scheme is recognised by the UK Contractors Group aswell as the Major House Builders Group amongst others.
Being such a widely recognised skills card scheme the CPCS test route is perfect for those who may have to work accross the water in England, Scotland or Wales.
BSD Training can provide a wide varity of plant categories that can be tested to CPCS standards. Have a look in our plant training section for details of all the plant courses we run. CPCS courses are being run on a weekly basis to ensure that we can cater for all clients needs with availability.

The reporting period for injuries sustained at work is to be extended from 3 to 7 days. At an HSE Board meeting on 17th August it was decided that the current period of 3 days is not long enough to give employers time to carryout their own investigations into sickness and injuries in the workplace.
By increasing the reporting time to 7 days the admin burdens will diminish however there are a number of critics to the new extension period stating that it "will diminish what health and safety is about, and affect how seriously it is take in organisations. The quailty of data collection, too, will be poorer which will prevent noticable trends being identified"

Due to a number of incidents involving MEWP'S(mobile evelated work platforms) becoming unsable while incorrectly set up on the ground.
IPAF have launched a new campaign at the APEX exhibition in the Netherlands to enforce the need for a through ground check before setting up boom type work platforms that use out riggers for stability and ensure spreader plates are used under each out rigger unless a specific risk assessment has eliminated the need for them.

PASMA tower scaffolding courses are an accredited route to ensure that you are deemed competent to erect, move, inspect and tag aluminium tower scaffold systems.
