Skip Handler

There are a number of elements candidates are assessed on during the Skip Handler assessment including;

  1. Complete all manufacturers' pre-start and running checks and prepare the ride on roller for travel
  2. Prepare the vehicle and skip handler for road travel (loaded and unloaded)
  3.  Travel to the work area and;
  4. - Undertake tight left and right hand turns
  5. - Travel over uneven terrain
  6. Position, prepare and set the skip handler and load for each lift
  7. Pick up and empty body or skip and carryout activity 2. On completion, deposit the skip/body at a different location
  8. Pick up a fully loaded skip/body, secure in preparation for road travel and carry out activity 3. On completion, top a load from the skip/body at a given position.
  9. Place a skip/body within a confined space. The vehicle is to be reversed in a straight line prior to entering the confined space
  10.  Retrieve a loaded skip or body from a restricted headroom location
  11. Stow all equipment and return the vehicle to park position
  12.  Park the vehicle and carry out shut-down and securing procedures
