There are a number of elements candidates are assessed on during the Wheeled Loading Shovel assessment including;

1. Complete all manufacturers' pre-start and running checks and prepare the loading shovel for travel
2. In a loaded and unloaded state;
3.  - Travel up and down the slope
4.  - Stop and start on the slope in the up directions
5.  - Stop and start on the slope in the down direction
6.  - Travel over rough terrain
7.  - Reverse (loaded only) in a straight line for a minimum of 30m and pass through a restriction at the end of the run
8. Prepare and set the loading shovel for relevant work
9. Using material from the bank, create an upward ramp
10. Load material into a vehicle
11. Clean and tidy the work area
12. Park the loading shovel and carry out shut-down and securing procedures
