Agriculture Tractor

Course Content

At BSD Training Ltd we can provide bespoke tractor courses to suit the needs of clients. At our training centre delegates are given the opportunity to operate an agricultural tractor on a variety of terrain including rough ground, grass, slopes and tight spaces. 

Delegates also recieve training in the pre-use checks, attaching and use of Power Take Off (PTO) attachments and are given the opprotunity to demonstrate their skills in both theoretical and practical ways throughout the course.

Aim:

Provide the candidate with the basic knowledge and practical skills involved in operating an Agricultural Tractor.

Objectives of the Course are to enable delegates to:       

  • Be able to operate the machine safely and correctly in accordance with manufacturer’s instructions and accepted good practice.
  • Carry out pre-shift inspection.
  • Be able to operate safely under varying site conditions.
  • Be able to carry out minor adjustments and routine services. 
  •  Have an understanding of responsibilities under Health and Safety at Work Order 1978 & other current relevant legislation.

Who do we recommend attends this course?                              

All personnel required to operate an Agricultural Tractor.

Course Summary         

Candidates will participate in theory lessons and practical demonstrations / exercise, all of which are highlighted by the use of Powerpoint & Videos covering:          -            

  • An introduction to the Construction Industry.
  • Provision and use of Work Equipment Regulations 1998.
  • Lifting Operations and Lifting Equipment Regulations 1998.
  • Health and Safety at Work Order 1978
  • Other current relevant regulations.
  • Introduction to the Machine
  • Pre-shift inspections.
  • Controls and instruments.
  • Coolant, fuel and lubrication.
  •  Use of the 3 Point Linkage.
  • Use of the Power Take Off.
  • Reversing the tractor with a trailer.
  • Loading and Un-loading.
  • The use of mounted implements.
 
Course Duration  
                               
1 – 3 days depending on the experience of the candidate, the number of candidates and the ratio of candidates / machines per instructor.
 
Certification                                        
 
ITSSAR Certificate awarded. We are also able to provide tractor training to a number of different standards including NVQ and CPCS
