Course Content for Pallet Truck

 Course duration – 1 day

 
Course aims: to supply enough knowledge to enable trainees to operate an electric pallet truck properly and safely.
 
Course objective: at the end of the course the trainees will be able to:-
 
  1. Answer 20 questions concerning the safe operation of the pallet truck.
  2. Carry out the pre shift checks
  3. Demonstrate that he/she can operate the machine correctly.
  4. Put the machine on the charge.
  5. Take the machine off the charge.
  6. Tell the instructor what the company requirements are in reporting a faulty machine.
  7. Pass a practical test as laid down by the joint industrial council

Explanation of controls
Simple starting and stopping
Emergency stopping
Turning right/left around a pallet
Forward then reversing
Figure eight forward/reverse
Chicane forward/reverse
 
Hydraulics
Picking up empty pallet
Pickink up loaded pallet
Picking up stillages
 
Turning right/left in wide aisle
Turning right/left in narrow aisle
Picking of pallet from narrow aisle 90° turn
Stacking pallet in narrown aisle 90° turn
As above but with right turn
 
Protective driving around factory floor negotiating doorways blind corners etc
Putting machine on/off charger.      
Parking machine safely
