Dumpers

Aim:  

To provide training and knowledge in the safe and efficient operation of forward tipping dumpers. As BSD Training Ltd is accredated by both ITSSAR and CAA we can train and test to both standards.

 

Objectives of the course are to enable the delegates to:

  • Be able to operate the machine safely and correctly in accordance with manufacturer’s instructions and accepted good practice.
  • Carryout pre-shift inspection.
  • Be able to operate safely under various site conditions.
  • To be able to carryout minor adjustments and minor services.
  • Have an understanding of responsibilities under Health and Safety at Work Order 1978 & other current relevant legislation.

Who should atend the course?

All personnel required to drive a dumper or dump truck.

Candidates will participate in theory lessons and practical demonstrations / exercise, all of which are highlighted by the use of Powerpoint & Videos covering:          -            

  •  An introduction to the Construction Industry.
  •   Provision and use of Work Equipment Regulations 1998.
  •  Lifting Operations and Lifting Equipment Regulations 1998.
  •  Health and Safety at Work Order 1978
  •  Other current relevant regulations.
  •  Introduction to the machine. 
  •   Pre – shift inspections.
  •  Controls and instruments.
  •  Coolant, Fuel and Lubrication.
  •  Driving loading and unloading.
Course Duration                                 
 
1 – 4 days dependant on the experience of the candidate, the number of candidates and the ratio of candidates / machines per instructor.
